Best Budget Laptop for 2024

The greatest inexpensive laptops enable you to perform basic computing chores that you may use for both work and play without going over budget. Their choice of a family song does not imply that their touchpads or screens are subpar. To elaborate, not all inexpensive laptops have uninteresting designs. If you need more freedom, there are variants that cost less than $500 and have removable keyboards. We’ve examined a tonne of inexpensive laptops to bring you the greatest offers. The best cheap laptops now on the market are listed below; the selections were made after conducting thorough in-person testing.

1.Acer Aspire 5

Still one of the greatest values for a Windows laptop is the Acer Aspire 5. There are three sizes available: 14.5, 15.6, and 17.3 inches. I have a soft spot for the 15.6-inch model since it is full featured, lightweight, and somewhat compact. Acer offers many different combinations, with prices starting under $400. In addition, this low-cost laptop has two USB-A 3.2 Gen 1 connections, Ethernet, an HDMI port, and a USB-C Thunderbolt 4 port. With the exception of internal parts, not much has changed with the Acer Aspire 5 since our last review in 2020. But we tested a 2023 model, which costs $750 right now, and it still offers great features and performance for the money.

2.Apple MacBook Air M1

There isn’t a MacBook in Apple’s portfolio that costs less than the $999 13-inch M1 MacBook Air. There are frequent price reductions of up to $250 for this base model. Even after more than three years, at a fair $750, it’s still a great laptop for the money.

3.HP Pavilion Aero 13

With its attractive magnesium-aluminum chassis, powerful processing capabilities, extended battery life, vivid, colourful display, and lightweight design of just 2.94 kg, HP crammed a lot of value into the Aero 13. Although the Aero usually retails for less than $600, it starts at about $900. The original Aero 13 that we reviewed in 2021 has the same general layout and functionality, but it now comes with AMD Ryzen 5 7000 series CPUs.

 4.Acer Predator Helios Neo 16

Similar to other manufacturers of gaming laptops, Acer offers two product lines: the midrange and high-end Predator models and the affordable Nitro series. Strangely enough, our choice for a low-cost gaming system is underneath the latter, with the Helios Neo 16. It resembles the Acer Nitro 16 quite a bit, but with marginally better build quality and graphics performance. Its speakers were the only genuine weak point; the audio they produced was incredibly flat and lacked bass.

5.Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 5/5i 14

Since Lenovo introduced the first convertible two-in-one laptop over ten years ago, it should come as no surprise that the company offers the best value for the money. A great value is the Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 5/5i, a 14-inch tablet. Lenovo packs more premium features like an SD card reader, a fingerprint reader, a 1080p webcam with a privacy shutter, a Thunderbolt 4 USB-C connector (for Intel only), and the newest 13th-generation Intel or AMD Ryzen 7000-series processors. Additionally, in our tests, the battery life was close to 11 hours.

6.HP Laptop17

If you want a larger display and solid everyday performance, the HP Laptop 17 is a good choice. It’s ideal for general computing, entertainment, and home office work. In our tests, battery life was approximately nine hours, which is also good. Despite the $650 configuration we examined, HP provides a wide range of configuration choices so you may tailor the price and performance to your own requirements. It’s also often available for considerably less on sales. HP also offers 14- and 15.6-inch laptops in this range if you’d like a smaller laptop.
