This Editorial Policy describes the principles and processes that guide every article published on Speaks Kerala. Our goal is simple: to give Malayali readers clear, accurate and genuinely useful information in a language they are comfortable with, so they can access government services, technology and everyday information with confidence.
1. Our Mission
Many important services, from Aadhaar updates to certificates, ration cards, pensions and government jobs, are now available online. Yet official instructions are often written in complex language or spread across several websites. We explain these processes step by step in simple Malayalam, pointing readers to the correct official portal every time, so that they can complete tasks themselves without depending on middlemen.
2. Core Editorial Principles
- Accuracy: Facts come first. We verify information before publishing and correct mistakes openly.
- Clarity: We write in plain, easy-to-understand language with numbered steps, tables and FAQs.
- Usefulness: Every article must help the reader do something or understand something better.
- Independence: Advertisers, affiliates and sponsors have no say in what we write.
- Fairness: We present information without bias and avoid sensational or misleading headlines.
- Safety: We warn readers about scams and never ask them to share sensitive personal information.
3. How We Choose Topics
Topics are selected based on what our readers need. We track common questions from readers, official announcements, new online services, changes in fees or procedures, and search trends in Kerala. Priority is given to topics that affect large numbers of people, such as certificates, welfare pensions, ration cards, identity documents, exams and employment.
4. Research and Sourcing
Every guide starts with primary sources. Our preferred sources, in order, are:
- Official government websites, portals and user manuals
- Government orders, gazette notifications and official press releases
- Official statements from departments, boards and public sector bodies
- Established national and regional news organisations
- Direct testing of an online process where it is safe and lawful to do so
We avoid relying on anonymous social media posts, forwarded messages or unverified websites. Where information cannot be confirmed, we either leave it out or clearly say that it is unconfirmed. Details that change often, such as fees or deadlines, are stated with the date or with a reminder to check the official portal.
5. Writing and Structure
Our articles follow a consistent structure so readers can quickly find what they need: an introduction that explains who the guide is for, a quick summary table, eligibility and documents required, numbered step-by-step instructions, a link or button to the official portal, common problems and solutions, safety tips and frequently asked questions. We use headings, lists and short paragraphs so that content is easy to read on mobile phones.
6. Review Before Publishing
Before an article goes live it is reviewed for factual accuracy, working links, correct official URLs, clarity of language and compliance with our policies. Particular care is taken with any figures, fees, dates and eligibility conditions, which are checked against the official source.
7. Updating Content
Government services change regularly, so our work does not end at publishing. We review important guides periodically and update them when procedures, fees or official links change. Significant updates are reflected in the article’s date. When an update corrects an error, we follow our Corrections Policy.
8. Use of Technology and AI Tools
We may use software tools, including AI-based writing and editing assistants, to help with research organisation, translation, grammar and formatting. Such tools never replace human judgement. Every piece of content is checked against official sources and reviewed before publication, and responsibility for the final content always rests with our editorial team.
9. Independence from Advertising
Advertising and editorial content are kept separate. Advertisers cannot request changes to articles, and affiliate relationships do not influence our recommendations. Sponsored content, if any, is clearly labelled. See our Affiliate Disclosure for details.
10. Images and Illustrations
We use original screenshots, illustrations and licensed or AI-generated images to explain processes. Images of documents are illustrative and never show a real person’s personal information. Official logos are used only to identify the relevant service.
11. Reader Feedback
We value feedback. If you find an error, have a suggestion or want us to cover a topic, please reach us through our Contact Us page or email us at mail@admarq.in. Reader feedback regularly helps us improve and update our guides.
12. Related Policies
Please also read our Fact-Checking Policy, Corrections Policy and Review Policy, which together describe how we maintain trustworthy content.
