In the Global NCAP categories for adult and child occupant protection, both SUVs received comparable stars and points. Additionally, these two SUVs received a five-star safety rating from Bharat NCAP.
Priced between Rs 15.49 lakh and Rs 26.44 lakh (ex-showroom), the Harrier falls into this bracket.
- Tata Nexon
With scores of 32.22 in the adult occupant safety category and 44.52 in the child occupant protection category from Global NCAP, the new Tata Nexon is another SUV from the domestic automaker to earn five stars.Six airbags and ESC are standard on even the Nexon. Prices range from Rs 8.15 lakh to Rs 15.60 lakh (ex-showroom).
In terms of both adult and child occupant protection, the Volkswagen Taigun obtained a five-star safety certification from Global NCAP. In terms of protecting adult occupants, the SUV received 29.64 points; however, for protecting children, it received 42 points.Taigun only comes with two airbags and ESC as standard, compared to six airbags and ESC on the Safari, Harrier, and Nexon. Priced ex-showroom, the Taigun ranges from Rs 11.70 lakh to Rs 20 lakh.
