Mahindra XUV700 MX Automatic Set For Launch

An ARAI-issued Type Approval Certificate states that the Mahindra XUV700 petrol will receive an automatic gearbox-equipped version of its entry-level MX variant. Only manual gearboxes are available for the MX trim with both petrol and diesel engine options; automatic gearboxes are currently limited to the AX3, AX5, and AX7 models of the XUV700. It is anticipated that this version of the five-seater SUV will be available in the upcoming weeks.

Along with many other features that are necessary for daily driving, the XUV700 MX variant is reasonably priced. These features include an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 7-inch instrument cluster, Android Auto, USB charging ports, a second-row AC unit, tilt-adjustable steering, follow-me-home headlamps, and electrically adjustable ORVMs. The marginally more expensive MX E version, which comes with an electronic stability programme, is the better choice if you want extra security.

The Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), which come with features like Lane Departure Warning, Adaptive Cruise Control, High Beam Assist, Traffic Sign Recognition, Smart Pilot Assist, Lane Keep Assist, and Front Collision Warning, are not available on the MX trim levels. Furthermore, Mahindra has not included automatic gearbox in the XUV700 MX trim levels. With the release of the new trim, the company might take this into consideration.

The MX has all the everyday essentials, but it lacks some features that the AX3 has, such as an elegant 8.0-inch digital driver display, wireless smartphone connectivity, and additional speakers. Additionally absent are rear seat armrests, LED daytime lights, and more versatile folding options. If you value these extra features, take a look at the AX3.

The 7.25-inch digital instrument cluster found in MX trims of the XUV700 is smaller than the 10.25-inch cluster found in AXE trims. Numerous features, including a 12-speaker configuration, wireless charging, a 360-degree surround view system, and realistic 3D sound technology, are included in the top-spec AX7L variant. It also includes vanity mirror lighting and passive keyless entry. In contrast to other models, the AX7L comes equipped with seven airbags and an electronic park brake.

Powertrain

With two engine options, the XUV700 is powerful.

Petrol: 2.0-liter turbo-petrol with a 6-speed manual or automatic gearbox that produces 197 horsepower and 380 Nm.
Diesel:2.2L mHawk, providing 182bhp/420Nm (450Nm for AT) in higher variants or 153bhp/360Nm in lower variants. Both come with options for an automatic and 6-speed manual.

Price and Competitors

The XUV700 MX petrol automatic (Exp. Rs 15.80 lakh) is most similar to the corresponding Creta variant. It can be purchased for as little as Rs 15.82 lakh. The XUV700 MX petrol automatic may also have an effect on sales of the VW Taigun (Rs 15.43 lakh) and Skoda Kushaq (Rs 15.49 lakh), two other small SUVs. The Toyota Hyryder (Rs 14.01 lakh), Maruti Grand Vitara (Rs 13.60 lakh), and Honda Elevate (Rs 13.41 lakh) are three compact SUVs with petrol automatic transmissions that are still considerably less expensive. In the upcoming months, this variant should be released shortly.
