Starting at Rs 10.99 lakh, the top-spec variant of the Tata Punch.ev, which comes with a sunroof and a 7.2kW AC fast charger, costs Rs 15.49 lakh (ex-showroom). Here are some key specifications for the new electric SUV’s battery pack, motor, range, and charging capabilities.

Punch.ev, which showcases Tata Motors’ cutting-edge acti.ev architecture and is expected to serve as the basis for the company’s future EVs, marks a significant advancement in the company’s journey towards electric mobility.Punch.ev  available in two distinct variants: the Long Range version and the standard model. The Punch.ev standard model  driven by a 60kW permanent magnet synchronous AC motor with 114Nm of torque; the Long Range variant, on the other hand, has a more powerful 90kW motor with 190Nm of torque.

The Long Range model has a larger 35kWh battery pack that can travel 421 km on a single charge, compared to the standard model’s 25kWh battery pack that has a 315 km MIDC range.

Because the motor and battery pack are rated IP67, they are protected from water and dust intrusion. Furthermore, the motor and battery pack are covered by an amazing eight-year or 1,60,000-kilometer warranty from Tata Motors, whichever comes first.

With a 3.3kW AC home wall box charger or a 15A plug point, the standard model can be fully charged from 10% to 100% in about 9.4 hours. This time  cut to just 3.6 hours with a faster 7.2kW AC home wall box charger. In just 56 minutes, a 50kW DC fast charger can increase a battery from 10% to 80% for people who are constantly on the go.

The Long Range model is similar, requiring 13.5 hours to fully charge when using a 3.3kW charger or a 15A plug point, and only 5 hours when using a 7.2kW charger. The same quick charging capabilities as the standard model are also advantageous.

Three selectable drive modes—Eco, City, and Sport—improve driving dynamics. Additionally, the Punch.ev has multiple regenerative braking levels that let drivers customise how much energy  recovered during deceleration or, if they’d like, completely disable the feature.
